The Story So Far...

Little Pinwheel is a world of playful and free spirited little people…… it is a place to come and dress your children thoughtfully and beautifully.

Little Pinwheel was born from a love for all things little after having my daughter Keely. (There really is something that happens to a woman after she has children and an obsession for all things little is just the beginning)! Keely is 3 (almost 4) and loves everything do with “little website,” especially the trying on all the girl’s clothes. This is good for us as we get to see what the fits are like and for her to model for Little Pinwheel. Keely loves it when we get her boyfriends over to model with her; she is not scared to tell them how to strike a pose! My son, Taj, who has just turned 1 is very involved in Little Pinwheel too, he is best at unpacking all the stock and then repacking it… he is in the ‘posting’ stage of his development! He is also good at trying the clothes on, but you have to be quick to snap a good photo as he is straight for the flash and the camera equipment.

My husband, Simon is a photographer, (the photographer) and his help and support with Little Pinwheel is fabulous. He does everything from helping with photo shoots, flat lay images to taking deliveries to the post office. Simon is an architectural and interiors photographer … an inspiration in himself.

Coming from a background in fashion and graphic design, I thought it would be fun to mix the two and have an online store that reflects my personality. I needed to make sure that my concept would be something different, and initially my point of difference was the supporting of Australian labels. This has now grown into so much more and will continue to do so as my creative head develops new ideas and concepts for Little Pinwheel.

I have a passion for writing and quite enjoy putting my feelings into words. I started my blog along with the launch of the website and little did I know back then that I would start writing more personal experiences as a mother. I really thought it would be more about my products and why others should feel comfortable in buying them for their children. I share a lot about the face behind Little Pinwheel in my newsletters each month to give my customers the personal touch, so they feel they are buying from me not their computers. This has really become my thing… the Little Pinwheel thing, and the feedback I get every time I write a newsletter is lovely.
